From a volunteering position to become an Operations Manager, Mrs. Yolanda Pessanha has been working to increase the participation of women in STEM in the job market for the past 2 years in ANCWT.
She is an expert in some interdisciplinary areas as Process Simulation, Energy, Quality Management, Biotechnology, and Design of Experiments. Indeed, her contribution includes some works as a Researcher in Brazil and Canada, also international publications in high-rated peer-review journals.
She also has served her country as a Brazilian government employee for over 10 years, whose 5 of these years she was working in Health & Safety as a Supervisor. By leading her team, creating and complying with the standards procedures, she secured the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Stamp for her institution, also getting certified as a Quality Auditor herself. In addition, as Chemical Engineering Technician, she developed a novel technique to enhance environmental performance in the chemicals’ management, which became the standard. Indeed, she trained personnel to follow the new procedures.
She received her bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering also an MBA in Energy from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, ranked 1st Brazilian university, 2nd place Latin American university, 204th world by the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities 2020.
